Heart Molds
Heart-shaped silicone molds for candles, resin and plaster - woven heart candles, rose hearts, nested hollow hearts, heart candle jars, trays and candlestick sets. A heart is a deceptively hard shape to cast well: the cleft at the top and the point at the bottom are where rigid molds leave seams. Flexible silicone releases both cleanly.
Heart candle molds vs. heart casting molds
The candle molds here are closed forms designed for wax - pour, wick, cure. The tray, dish and jar molds are open or two-part forms meant for plaster and resin, where the heart becomes a functional object rather than a candle. The jar and tray molds hold their value year-round; the pure heart candle shapes are seasonal and spike hard around Valentine's Day.
Casting a clean point
The bottom point of a heart is the last place material reaches and the first place bubbles collect. Pour into the cleft at the top and let the mix run down into the point rather than filling from the middle, then tap the mold on the bench before it sets. For resin, a slow pour in a thin stream produces far fewer trapped bubbles than dumping the cup in at once.
Valentine's stock timing
Valentine's buyers shop the first two weeks of February, which means finished stock needs to exist in January. Wax needs a cure week before it burns properly; resin needs full cure before shipping. Buy the mold in December if you intend to sell the output.
