Bird Molds

The owl and duckling molds are solid 3D casts - shelf objects, gifts, and the kind of thing that photographs well for a shop listing. The storage box mold casts a body and a lid as separate pieces that fit together, which makes it a functional product rather than a decorative one and lets you price it higher. The silhouette lamp mold casts a hollow form that lights from inside.

Casting birds without losing the beak

Beaks and tail feathers are the thin points on every bird mold. Fill the cavity slowly so material reaches those extremities before it starts thickening, and demold from the base upward - peel the silicone down off the body rather than pulling the bird out by its head.
